About The Pastor

Pastor Deanna Strombeck

Welcome, and thank you for visiting our website!

Greetings to the Wolf Lake community!

My name is Pastor Deanna Strombeck, and I am honored to serve as your appointed Local Pastor. As I step into this role, I am reminded of the promise in Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” It is with that spirit of hope and divine purpose that I join you in ministry.

My Foundations of Faith

My journey began as a child raised in the Lutheran Church in Hammond, Indiana. While I hold a deep and lasting affection for the Lutheran tradition, I often share that while I was raised Lutheran, I was “born a Methodist” at heart. After spending my early years in Munster and a brief period in Mukwonago, Wisconsin, my family returned to North Webster in 1984.

The “return” to North Webster was a homecoming in every sense. Throughout my childhood, the lake was the backdrop of my summer vacations, specifically at a rental home in Epworth Forest. These waters have always been a place of renewal for me, echoing the sentiment of Psalm 23:2-3: “He leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul.”

Family and Vocation

In 1993, I married my husband, Bob Strombeck, and together we have been blessed with two children, Ashley and Christopher. Our family continues to grow in exciting ways; our daughter is an elementary teacher in Warsaw and will be married this spring. Our son also teaches elementary school in Goshen, where he leads the children’s ministry alongside his girlfriend, who is currently studying to become a teacher herself.

Professionally, I have served as a full-time Biology and Environmental Science teacher at Concord High School since 1995. Balancing the world of science and the Word of God has been a rewarding challenge, much like the wisdom found in Psalm 111:2: “Great are the works of the Lord; they are pondered by all who delight in them.”

My Call to Ministry

In 2011, I answered God’s call to ministry. I had the privilege of serving as the Associate Pastor at North Webster United Methodist Church until August 2019. Today, I am profoundly grateful that the Lord has called me to serve as a Local Pastor.

My greatest joy is found in the Great Commission, as stated in Matthew 28:19-20, and I look forward to many years of walking alongside you, leading our community into a deeper, more vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ.
